Trump’s war on Iran has sent global oil and gas prices spiralling, hitting already struggling households and businesses hard. It has clearly exposed the absurdity of backing fossil fuels over renewables.
Our reliance on oil and gas is risking our energy security. We must change this by investing more in home grown renewable energy. Renewables do not have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and are therefore not affected by the global chaos we are seeing currently.
Reform and the Conservatives continue to push anti-renewable policies which will only keep us at the mercy of future global energy crises. To protect our energy security we must back UK renewables and the companies that are finding innovative ways to generate clean energy.
